Admin Lab Privacy Notice

This notice explains what the Admin Lab editions store on your WordPress site, what the paid edition's licensing service receives, and how to ask about product data.

Effective date: September 27, 2026

Who handles product information

wisegear, LLC develops Admin Lab and is the controller for product-support information it collects directly and customer information it receives through Freemius. Contact us at support@wisegear.com about product privacy questions or requests. Freemius is the online reseller and merchant of record. Its hosted checkout and customer portal process order, billing, payment, account and license information under the Freemius Privacy Policy. Payment details are entered with Freemius, not into Admin Lab.

Freemius shares your email address and information about your Admin Lab transaction with wisegear, LLC. We use this information to manage licenses, provide product support and handle purchase or billing questions.

License connection and updates

The paid Admin Lab package includes the Freemius WordPress SDK. The separate Free Appearance package does not include the SDK, require an account or send license data to Freemius. An inactive paid package still contains the SDK. When an administrator connects a license, it may send the license key, their WordPress account name and email address, the site address and an installation identifier, plus the Admin Lab and SDK versions to Freemius. On a multisite network, network and subsite identifiers may also be used. Freemius uses this connection to manage allowed activations and account access.

The SDK synchronizes license and installation status automatically, generally about once a day through WordPress scheduling, and when an administrator checks the license. Connected paid installations also check Freemius for eligible updates and downloads. These requests include the information needed to identify the installation, its license and current plugin version. The SDK can report activation, deactivation and uninstall status to Freemius.

Optional diagnostic sharing

During license activation, the SDK offers optional permissions to share WordPress and PHP versions, site title and language, and a list of installed plugins and themes with their versions and active status. These details are used only when the corresponding permission is allowed. License essentials, including the homepage address and plugin and SDK versions, and the plugin's active state are needed for licensing and updates.

Optional deactivation feedback

If you choose to submit feedback when deactivating Admin Lab, the Freemius SDK stores your selected reason and any written comment on your WordPress site and can send them to Freemius with its uninstall report. Feedback from a connected installation may be linked to that installation. Submitting feedback is optional. Please leave out license keys, passwords, payment details and unrelated personal information.

Information kept on your WordPress site

Admin Lab keeps configuration in WordPress site options. The paid edition also keeps a per-site Appearance fallback and the latest local edits made during a license lapse. Personal appearance, safe-mode, preference and notice states are kept in user metadata. Dashboard and optional Fleet features keep local widget, revision, sync and audit state; multisite network defaults are kept as a network option. The Freemius SDK also caches its connection, account and license state locally. These records stay in your WordPress database, under your site administrator's control.

Deactivating or uninstalling Admin Lab does not erase its settings or user metadata. This lets a later installation restore the workspace. On multisite, network data may still be needed by other sites. Ask support for help identifying those local records before deleting them. Removing the plugin also does not cancel your subscription or delete Freemius records.

Optional external content and Fleet sync

If a site administrator configures Fleet sync, Admin Lab reads signed configuration files from that administrator's chosen GitHub repository using a token stored in WordPress configuration. The request identifies the repository, branch and site-specific file. Fleet may fetch administrator-selected HTTPS media. If an administrator adds a dashboard video, WordPress may contact its embed provider and that provider may receive requests when the video is displayed. These features are optional and are not a wisegear-hosted data collection service.

Storefront and support

The Admin Lab storefront is served through Cloudflare. Technical request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL and time may be processed to deliver and protect the site. The storefront does not include wisegear analytics tags, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to include. Please remove license keys, passwords, payment details and unrelated personal information before sending a request.

Retention and deletion requests

wisegear, LLC retains support correspondence and any copies of customer information received through Freemius only as long as reasonably needed for licensing, support, purchase questions, legal obligations or dispute handling.

Admin Lab settings remain on your WordPress site after uninstall until a site administrator removes them. We do not remotely erase those local records. Freemius keeps its own account, license and transaction records under its privacy policy and applicable obligations. For access, correction or deletion questions about information held by wisegear, including information received through Freemius, email support@wisegear.com. We will review the request and identify any information held by Freemius that must be addressed through its process.

Changes

We may update this notice as the plugin or its services change. The effective date above identifies this version. See the Admin Lab Terms for the subscription and support policies.
